HUCC Physicians and nurses are happy to prescribe and administer most vaccines and immunizations. Please tell the clerk when you register that you are visiting us for a vaccine only, or for a travel consultation.
- Shingles Vaccine (Zostavax) – for everyone over 50.
- Hepatitis A and B (Twinrix, Energix, Havrix, Avaxim) – for everyone travelling who is not already immunized.
- Typhoid (Typhim, Vivaxim) – for those at risk of foodborne illness in Africa/Asia.
- Rabies (RabAvert) – for those with likely animal exposure
Measles/Mumps/Rubella, Tetanus, Pertusis (Whooping Cough) and Polio vaccines are OHIP covered and available at HUCC free of charge.
TRAVEL ADVICE: Some physicians at HUCC are trained travel medicine specialists and will be able to counsel you on travel risks, malaria prophylaxis and other vaccines. If you require these types of services please confirm with the clerk when you register that a travel physician is on shift. Monday is almost always the best day. These consultations are not OHIP covered and a charge of $30 applies. HUCC is not currently a yellow fever vaccine site.
Some travel vaccines are not OHIP Covered but may be covered by your insurance plan.
